And upon these Gods we have imposed our patently human idiosyncrasies, foibles and shortcomings. Thus our imaginary Gods are judgmental, mean-spirited, authoritarian and vindictive. And they are almost always &#8216;male&#8217;. Is it not an <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">insult<\/span> to impose upon this perfect, wondrous, magnificent, universal, omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient power a lowly transient and temporal primate form complete with a transient and temporal gender?<\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\">The incontestable scientific fact super-humans find most repugnant is that &#8211; regardless of the explosive growth of the hominid brain over the past few million years and regardless of all the nifty gadgets we&#8217;ve created due to our super-brains and opposable thumbs &#8211; we are still primates&#8230; a sub-species of the &#8216;Great Apes&#8217; family, which includes chimpanzees, bonobos, the gorillas and orangutans. What an asinine concept&#8230;that the All Mighty, the Divine, the creator of the entire universe, this formless, timeless, limitless and gender-less &#8216;energy-being&#8217; should be confined to the hairy and somewhat unsavory form of a male &#8216;ape&#8217;.<\/p>\n<p class=\"normal\">This little ditty was written a few years back to commemorate the two-hundredth anniversary of the birth of Charles Darwin.
